About the lettering
1000logos' history of the mark describes the Futurama logo as custom hand-drawn sans lettering, with giveaway details such as the elongated crossbar of the R and the triangular crossbars of the A letters. Those irregularities are the point: the lettering was drawn to feel like optimistic mid-century sign painting beamed into the year 3000. Because it was never a production font, the Johnson recreation is the documented route to the look.
