Every style above comes out of a cataloged collection, and the collection is bigger than the picker: 313 FIGlet designs with their authors and coverage measured, the 34 TheDraw fonts recovered from the BBS art packs, and the 4,019 packs they traveled in. The reference wing keeps them as an archive, with a specimen and provenance page per design.

Why a .ans file?

On a BBS, a banner was not a picture. It was a text file full of CP437 block characters and ANSI color codes, drawn live by the terminal at 80 columns. Every other ASCII generator hands you plain text or a picture of text. This one hands you the real file: the blocks encoded as CP437 bytes, the color as ANSI escapes, ready for an ANSI viewer, a scene pack, or a Discord code block. Pick a TheDraw style and the .ans carries the font's own color on every single cell, exactly as TheDraw saved it in 1993.
