About the lettering
The current logo, in use since 2004, redraws SONIC from Syntax Ultra Black under a yellow gradient and dark blue outline, with THE HEDGEHOG in Impact on a red banner. The original 1991 logo was custom official lettering with no published type credit; the best-known fan recreation of that era's lettering is Nise Sega Sonic by ActSelect.
